Touring AV Production Manager

Orlando, FL · tours with events Thursday–Monday on event weekends · at least 80% travel · Tuesday off, Wednesday in the warehouse

The Touring AV Production Manager is responsible for the rig on the road: lighting, audio, video, and the network that ties it together. You load it in, patch it, program it, run the show, troubleshoot it on show day, and load it out. Then you do it again the next weekend in a different city. Production management experience is required. Plan on traveling at least 80% of the time during the season. When you are not on the road, you are in our Orlando office and warehouse: prepping the next show, fixing what came back, and building the rig forward. A typical week is home Monday, Tuesday off, Wednesday in the warehouse, and out again Thursday. If you have been the person everyone turns to when the show breaks, we want to talk.

  • Based in the Orlando area (required)
  • 4+ years as a production manager or lead technician on touring or live events, with lighting, audio, and video all under you
  • Leading a team: you have run a crew on load-in, show days, and load-out, set the plan, given the calls, and kept everyone safe and on time
  • Networking (extensive): IP addressing and subnets, static vs DHCP, VLANs, managed switches, Art-Net and sACN, video over IP; you can find the device that dropped off the network and get it back fast
  • Bitfocus Companion or Bitfocus Buttons (extensive): you have built pages and triggers that drive ATEM, HyperDeck, QLab, and OSC on a live show, and you can fix them on the spot
  • Hog: programmed and run shows on a Road Hog 4 or Hog 4 family console
  • Allen & Heath ecosystem: SQ, Avantis, or dLive consoles, DX and GX expanders, Dante cards, personal monitor mixes, and the Director and MixPad software
  • Dante (basic to intermediate, important): Dante Controller, routing, clocking, latency, and Dante Virtual Soundcard for playback and recording off a computer
  • Show control and video: QLab, ATEM switching, and streaming encoders
  • Problem solving under pressure: when something breaks mid-show, you find it, fix it or work around it, and the show keeps going
  • Used to long hours: 12 to 16 hour load-in and show days, several days in a row, on event weekends
  • Comfortable with truss, heavy cases, and working the floor with the crew
  • Dance convention or competition experience is a big plus, not required
  • Our own tour-grade rig that we maintain ourselves
  • Travel and hotels covered (double occupancy)
  • Home Monday night through Wednesday on a typical week; Tuesday is the day off, Wednesday is a warehouse day
